Screw-in Cartridge Valve (Cartridge) – DBD Type Pressure Relief Valves

DBD type pressure relief valves are direct operated seat valves used for limiting system pressure. These valves are versatile, suitable for both threaded connections and subplate mounting.

Structure and Function

The valves fundamentally consist of a sleeve, a spring, a poppet with damping piston (for pressure ratings of 25-400 bar) or a ball (for a pressure rating of 630 bar), and an adjustment type. The system pressure can be steplessly set via the adjustment type.

Operation is as follows:

• The spring pushes the poppet or the ball onto the seat.
• Channel P is connected to the system, and the pressure existing in the system acts on the poppet surface (or the ball).
• If the pressure in channel P exceeds the value set at the spring, the poppet or the ball opens against the spring.
• Hydraulic fluid then flows from channel P into channel T.
• The stroke of the poppet is limited by the embossing.

To achieve good pressure adjustment over the entire pressure range, the total range has been divided into 7 pressure ratings. One pressure rating corresponds to a specific spring, allowing for a maximum operating pressure that can be set with that spring.
